Having fun at BHI
Bald Head Island. No cars. Just golf carts, peace and quiet. There is a Maritime forest to explore, Civil War relics, kayak heaven because one part of the island is just marshes and streams. It has a cape side beach, a normal beach, and a meeting point between the two, Frying Pan Shoals. Apparently hundreds of ships were wrecked in this area, u̶n̶t̶i̶l̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶i̶z̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶b̶a̶d̶ ̶i̶d̶e̶a̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶y̶ and they still do I have been told.
It's worth checking out if you have never heard of it. I know it looks all ritzy, (and it can be) but there are affordable options for everyone. It is truly one of NC's hidden secrets, and one of the things I like to share most about our state.

My beautiful wife trying to find us a way off this island we went to that turned into a series life or death situations. I love hiking but in the Spring only. Well sometimes in the Fall too but not in the Summer. Ok. Summer.

Thank Baby Jesus we got the heck out of there. Velociraptors are smart, mean sons a b******. The whole place was over rated anyways, "gorgeous vistas" they said. And the locals were not very nice. I love my hairbrush more than those kids.
